Hospice Care

AMOREM serves the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of terminally ill patients and those they love. We recognize dying as a natural part of living, and we help patients live as pain-free and comfortably as possible.

The benefits of hospice care are proven by research to support symptom management, pain management, relieve anxiety, and overall quality of life; in fact, many families say they wish they had received hospice care sooner.

The benefit of hospice care is greatest when services are provided early within your loved one’s eligibility so that they can:

  • Maintain independence and make personal decisions about their illness or disease
  • Complete important tasks
  • Organize personal affairs
  • Participate in spiritual services
  • Spend time with loved ones

Four Levels of Hospice Care:

Routine Home Care is provided wherever you call home, including your private residence, skilled nursing facility, or assisted living facility.

General Inpatient Care (GIP) is short-term, around-the-clock care provided in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, or in one of our three patient care units: William E. Stevens, Jr. in Lenoir, Forlines in Hudson and Valdese in Valdese, if you are experiencing a crisis.

Continuous Care is a higher level of care provided in the home for brief periods of time if you are experiencing a crisis.

Respite Care is short-term care, up to five days, provided in the hospital, skilled nursing facility, or in one of our three patient care units: William E. Stevens, Jr. in Lenoir, Forlines in Hudson and Valdese in Valdese, allowing the caregiver a break to attend to personal needs.

Complete this brief questionnaire to determine whether now might be the right time to consider hospice care for yourself or your loved one.
